Slush Global Impact Accelerator Opens Application for Pitching Competition

June 29: Slush Global Impact Accelerator 2017, a program initiated in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland, has opened applications for Nepali entrepreneurs to take part in a global competition. The entrepreneurs will be required to pitch their business ideas out of which 15 applicants will be shortlisted. The ideas need to be solution driven which supports Sustainable Development Goals. The purpose of the event is to create a leading global program that supports Nepali startups looking to solve some of the most pressing global challenges and contributing to the discussion on impact investing.

The deadline for the application is July 31, 2017 followed by orientation for the entrepreneurs. The shortlisted participants will get to pitch their final ideas on August 17 where the finalists will be selected. The finalists will then get to pitch their ideas in the international bootcamp, Slush Global Impact Accelerator, in Helsinki, Finland in November.

The enterprises that wish to apply need to be legally registered and have at least a working prototype along with having revenue plus funding less than 1 million euros.

The event is being jointly organized by YoungInnovations, OULU University of Applied Sciences, Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM), King’s College and Idea Studio. This is the second Slush GIA to be held in Nepal. Last year, two finalists, Honeyguide App and ICT for Agriculture got a chance to pitch their business plans at the global arena in Finland.
