November 1: Tourism entrepreneurs have stressed on the need to develop infrastructure in the country for growth of tourism.
They urged the government to develop basic infrastructures of the nation, which will help in the overall development of the tourism sector.
Speaking at a program organised in Kathmandu on Tuesday, they said that there is a huge potential of tourism in the country, but the negligence on part of the government has hit tourism entrepreneurs hard.
The program was organised by Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN). According to Amar Man Shakya, president of HAN, the private sector is ready to invest in this tourism.
“All the state-owned bodies like Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), and other agencies should work together with private sector to develop tourism industry,” he said.
Similarly, Lilamani Pokhrel, a Maoist Centre leader, said that the flow of remittance to the country will not help the country’s economy in the long run.
