November 16: J4 Sports, a subsidiary of Shankar Group, has announced spinner of the national cricket team Shakti Gauchan as the captain of Pokhara Rhinos. The team captained by Gauchan will be competing in the Everest Premier League (EPL), a Twenty20 cricket tournament, which will start from December 19.
Issuing a press statement the company informed that J4 sports bought the franchise Pokhara Rhinos for the league.
“J4 Sports is organizing ‘Talent Hunt’ in Pokhara on November 18 to find a deserving player who will be playing with our players during the tournament,” reads the press statement.
In addition to this, Sahil Agrawal, managing director J4 Sports, said that this kind of tournament and talent hunt will help in producing capable players who can lead Nepal in international level. Likewise, as per the league regulation, three foreign players will also be joining the team as well, J4 Sports announced amid a programme held in the capital on November 15.
Similarly, Man Bahadur GC, mayor of Pokhara Municipality opined that this kind of sports activities can help increase sports tourism in the country.
