Nepal SBI Appoints Varma as its Chairman

January 5: Nepal SBI Bank has appointed Sujit Kumar Varma as its chairman. The bank’s 418th meeting of the Board of Directors unanimously elected Varma, a representative from the State Bank of India, to the post on Wednesday, January 3.

The newly elected chairman of the bank is also the chief general manager for international banking at SBI's Mumbai-based corporate office, and looks after the banking affairs across the globe.

Nepal Rastra bank Governor Dr Chiranjibi Nepal administered oath of office to Varma amid a function organised at the head office of the central bank in Baluwatar on Thursday, January 4.
