January 24: Sunrise Bank has provided insurance amount to a beneficiary under the bank’s scheme of ‘Group Personal Accidental Insurance Policy for Saving Depositors’.
Under the scheme, the bank handed over the amount to the next-in-kin of Manoj Kumar Pokharel, an account holder of the bank who died in an accident.
The branch manager of Narayangadh handed over a cheque amount of Rs 256,028 to Sushila Kumari Baniya, the wife of the deceased.
The bank has been providing insurance amount to its customers not exceeding Rs 500,000 or up to four times the amount in the depositor’s account in case of his/her death or permanent disability.
The bank said that the insurance coverage amount is four times the available balance in the customers’ saving account or Rs 500,000, whichever is less and is provided in case of accidental death and permanent disability only.
