January 26: Siddhartha Bank has established six new branches across the country with an objective to make banking service accessible to rural areas.
The branches have been opened at Makalu of Sankhuwasabha, Gokul Ganga of Ramechhap, Budiganga of Bajura, Golanjar of Sindhuli, Adarsha Kotwal of Bara and Bahadurmai of Parsa. Issuing a press statement, the bank said that the branch came into operation from January 25.
These branches have been opened in accordance with the policy of Nepal Government and Nepal Rastra Bank, reads the statement.
“The branches shall offer a wide array of banking services, which will benefit a large number of customers residing in the rural areas,” reads the statement.
With the opening of these branches, the bank has been providing services across the country through a network of 92 branches, three extension counters, 105 ATMs, 99 branchless banking locations and more than 650 POS machines.
As per the unaudited financial statement as of Poush of the current fiscal year, the bank said it has recorded a deposit of Rs 85.57 billion and a loan portfolio of Rs 76.95 billion.
