April 9: Nepal Airlines Corporation has started direct flights between Kathmandu and Surkhet. The state-owned airline company sent its 18-seater plane with call sign 9N AKS Y 12-E to Surkhet for the first time on Sunday, April 8. The plane with seven people on board, including the aircraft crew, landed at the airport at 8.55 am, according to the airport chief Binod Kumar Panta. The plane returned back to Kathmandu with 12 passengers at 12.37 pm.
Nepal Airlines Corporation informed that it started the flights with the objective of providing flight service to all the airports of Karnali Province. The airline company's representative in Surkhet, Chetan Kumar Timilsina informed that the flag carrier of Nepal will have one flight a week to Surkhet every week on Sunday.
