April 12: Itahari branch of Rural Microfinance Development Center (RMDC) organized a Training of Trainers (TOT) at Gokarna Resort and Party Palace in Morang. Altogether 27 financial institutions from 10 working districts of RMDC participated in the training held from April 9 to 11.
According to the RMDC, there were altogether 31 participants of management level staff present in the training. The program was facilitated by Itahari Branch Manager Govinda Prasad Poudel.
The trainer of the program was Prakash Koirala, managing director of FINLIT Nepal Private Ltd. During this three-day training, Koirala discussed about the meaning of financial literacy, its importance, value of time, importance of money, importance of saving, process of saving, loan management process, vocational planning development, process of utilizing money received from remittance, process and important of insurance through games, presentations, discussions and audio-visual methods.
At the end of the training, the participants shared that the training was very useful and they committed to share their knowledge with their colleagues. In the closing ceremony, Koirala shared his view that the objective of the training will only be achieved when all the participants utilize the learning in their financial literacy activities.
