Sagarmatha Insurance to Cover Insurance of Women Journalists Scaling Everest

April 12: Sagarmatha Insurance has announced insurance coverage for the team of women journalists who are preparing to climb Mount Everest this season. The team under the leadership of Rojita Buddhacharya includes Laxmi Karki, Deurali Chamling, Kalpana Maharjan, Rosha Basnet and Dawa Dikki Sherpa.

The team is climbing Mount Everest through Dreamers Destination Trek and Expedition under the guidance of Phurba Tenzing Sherpa, who has conquered Mount Everest 12 times.

Sagarmatha Insurance will become the insurance partner of the team providing insurance coverage of up to Rs 1.5 million as accidental insurance, Rs 400,000 as healthcare insurance, Rs 300,000 for high altitude and Rs 1 million for search and rescue per person. Chanki Chettri, CEO of Sagarmatha Insurance handed over the company's flag to the climbing team amid a function at Naxal-based head office of the insurance company on Wednesday, April 11.
