April 26: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has issued new notes of Rs 500 denomination. The new notes introduced on April 25 are similar in size and color to the previous ones but only the animal print has changed.
Two small-sized tigers of the previous edition of Rs 500 have been replaced by a larger-sized tiger in the new notes, said Executive Director of Currency Management Department of NRB Laxmi P Niraula.
According to the central bank, both previous and new notes will be in operation in the Nepali market.
