May 24: Kathmandu-based Sri Lankan embassy in collaboration with Hotel Yak and Yeti is hosting a week-long Sri Lankan Food Festival in the capital. The food festival will be organised at Sunrise Restaurant of Hotel Yak and Yeti from May 24 to June 2 with support from Qatar Airways and Varun Beverage.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Swarna Perera said that Nepal and Sri Lanka have good religious ties as many Sri Lankans come to Lumbini, the birth place of Gautam Buddha, each year.
“This food festival will further strengthen our economic relations and help promote food tourism,” she said while speaking at a press meet organised at Hotel Yak and Yeti on May 23.
The food festival, which will be supervised by senior Sri Lankan chef Publis Silva, will include Sri Lankan cuisines including coconut roti, egg hoppers, fish ambulthiyal, brinjalmoju, watalappan
