June 1: Sunrise Bank has started branchless banking service at Chure Rural Municipality of Kailali and Sundarijal of Gokarneshwor Municipality, Kathmandu. The bank said it started the service in the places in accordance to the policy of Nepal Rastra Bank to extend banking service at all local units of the nation.
Hari Prasad Acharya, head of the bank's corporate banking department and Dhan Bahadur Rokka, chairman of the municipality jointly inaugurated the service at Chure amid a function on Thursday, May 31, reads a press statement issued by the bank.
Similarly, Gokarneshwor Municipality's Chairman Ram Manadhar handed a point of sale machine to a local representative, Ramesh Prasad Simkhada, to start the service at Sundarijal.
The bank believes that the operation of the service will facilitate the locals and entrepreneurs to conduct financial transaction easily.
