June 3: The price of construction materials has increased in Dolakha due to the ban on operation of loaded trucks weighing more than 10 tons on BP Highway by the District Administration Office, Sindhuli.
According to the entrepreneurs, the price of construction materials has increased by almost Rs 5 per kilogram as the loaded trucks are not allowed to run on BP Highway.
The price of OPC cement has increased to Rs 1,150 per sack, which was Rs 1,050 earlier. Likewise, iron, which was available at Rs 90 to Rs 95 per kilogram earlier, costs Rs 105 per kilogram after the ban on loaded trucks. Similarly, the price of bricks that comes from the tarai region has also increased significantly.
The increase in the price rate has also hit the reconstruction of houses damaged by the earthquake of 2015.
