Vegetable Farmer Earning More than in Foreign Employment

June 27: Hari Lal Ghimire, 48, has been involved in vegetable farming in Beni, Myagdi. He started commercial farming upon returning back to Nepal from the Middle East. Ghimire could hardly earn Rs 20,000 per month in Saudi Arabia and returned back to Nepal in 2009. He then got engaged in vegetable farming and is currently making Rs 60,000 per month.

He currently cultivates various seasonal and non-seasonal vegetables in seven ropanies of land and earns Rs 600,000 annually.
