July 23: Tara Air, a sister company of Yeti Airlines, has added an additional Twin Otter aircraft to its fleet.
The Viking 400 Twin Otter with call sign N9 ALO belonging to Tara had landed in Kathmandu on Friday, July 20. The aircraft had landed in Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu from Seychelles via the Maldives and India.
Tara Air in a statement said that the Twin Otter is capable of Short Take off and Landing (STOL) and tough airfields like Lukla, Dolpa and Rara.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has approved the operation of the aircraft and will be used for domestic flights by Tara Air.
The airline is well known for operating its flight to remote STOL airports of the country.
