August 12: Unidentified persons have carried out a bomb blast in Biratnagar Metropolitan City on Sunday afternoon. The blast was carried out in front of the office of the mayor of Biratnagar at 2 pm.
According to Biratnagar’s Mayor Bhim Parajuli, there were no immediate human casualties.
Parajuli informed New Business Age that the bomb damaged window panes of the office and surrounding areas. Mayor Parajuli’s vehicle was also damaged by the blast.
The bomb was planted inside a shelf in front of the mayor’s office.
Police deployed after the blast said they are investigating the issue and are yet to find out the persons involved in the incident.
The city remained tensed after the blast.
