August 12: Kathmandu-based office of China Southern Airline said it has successfully operated its first trial flight with Airbus 330-200 series aircraft with full occupancy for Guangzhou-Kathmandu-Guangzhou flight. The company had been earlier conducting the Guangzhou-Kathmandu–Guangzhou flights by Airbus 319 series.
“Our Airbus 330-200 has four first class, 24 business class and 190 economy class seats,” said a statement issued by the company.
According to the airline company, the first class seats provide more personal space and more privacy for the ultimate comfort of the passengers. The cocoon-designed seat that can convert into a comfortable fully flat bed in the first class cabin. The 1-2-1 configuration cabin conveys an enhanced private space for relaxing, the company said.
In the business class, passengers can lay down the deluxe seats into a bed at a touch of a button. The large-screen personal TV brings cinematic experience to unwind the passengers, according to the company. The business class seats are designed in 2-2-2 configuration providing space and comfort.
Meanwhile, the economy class seats are in 2-4-2 configuration, designed for comfort and features excellent lumbar support, plus generous recline and extended leg rest.
The company further said that it will announce night flights effective from September 29 to October 27 by Airbus 330-200.
