Ford Helps Communities during its Global Caring Month

October 1: As a part of Ford Global Caring month 2018, Ford volunteers in Nepal including Ford employees in collaboration with Round Table Nepal carried out community service works at Shila Devi School in Ratmate, Nuwakot.

According to the company, it decided to support Shila Devi School as it is one of the two schools in Ratmate, a VDC in Nuwakot, which was destroyed in the 2015 earthquake, forcing the students to study in a temporary shelter. Round Table Nepal has helped rebuild the school block. As a part of the Global Month of Care, Ford Nepal in collaboration with Round Table Nepal, initiated a project to improve the sanitation and hygiene in the school by rebuilding nine toilets and educating the students about hygiene.

Ford volunteers carried out the awareness and educational program to more than 350 students of Shila Devi School on the importance of sanitation and hygiene, which is expected to impact 200+ households in Nuwakot. Ford volunteers also distributed sanitation and hygiene kits along with stationeries to the students of this far-flung village school.

Ford Global Caring Month is the signature annual event of the Ford Volunteer Corps.
