October 9: Nepal SBI Bank has provided scholarships to top 33 meritorious students of Shree Nandi Madhyamik Vidyalaya belonging to financially backward section of the society. Out of 33 students rewarded, 18 secured highest marks in SEE 2073 and the remaining 15 in SEE 2074, the bank said in a statement issued on October 8. According to the bank, it has been providing such scholarship since the last nine years as a part of community engagement and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The statement said that the bank provided a total amount of Rs 363,000 to the school for the scholarships. The scholarship cheques each of Rs 11,000 were handed over to the students by Subhakanta Kanungo, deputy CEO and chief operating officer of the bank.
