December 9: Astrek Climbing Wall is organising the 5th Climbmandu from December 15 to 16.
The first edition of Climbmandu was organized in 2012 which brought together climbing experts from the sports and mountaineering sectors. The event was conducted in joint collaboration with Northface, Black Diamond and Nepal Mountaineering Association.
Sport climbing is arguably one of the fastest growing sports in the world – and as a testament to its growing popularity is that it has even been included in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, reads a statement issued by Astrek Climbing Wall.
Since 2014 alone, Nepal has taken part in 11 international competitions in places like France, Spain, Korea, China, Malaysia, Thailand Iran and India.
The competition will be conducted in three categories namely lead, speed and bouldering.
