Tourist arrivals in the Annapurna Conservation Area surged in April, the second peak season for visitors. According to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), a total of 44,763 foreign tourists visited the area last month—an increase of 10,852 compared to April 2024, when 33,911 tourists were recorded.
The region sees a high influx of tourists between March and May, with many coming for pilgrimage and trekking. In March 2025, a total of 36,834 tourists visited the area. The numbers were 12,068 in February and 9,359 in January.
The Annapurna Circuit draws both domestic and international travelers to key destinations such as Annapurna Base Camp, Mardi Himal, Sikles, Lwang, Ghandruk village, Tilicho Lake, Thorang La Pass, Upper Mustang, Muktinath, Ghodepani, and Poonhill.
Covering 7,600 square kilometers, the Annapurna Conservation Area spans 87 wards across 15 local levels in Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi, and Mustang districts. -- RSS
