A special photo exhibition was held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, May 5, to mark 70 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China.
The exhibition, titled "Legacy of Friendship: 70 Years of Nepal-China Relations Through the Lens," was jointly inaugurated by former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song.
Organized by the Girija Prasad Koirala Foundation for Democracy, Peace and Development, the exhibition showcased around 100 rare photographs highlighting historic visits, diplomatic milestones, and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
The event was attended by key figures including Sujata Koirala, Chairperson of the Foundation; Nepali Congress leaders Shekhar Koirala and Shashank Koirala; and Nepal-China Friendship Forum Chairperson Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma.
On the occasion, Deuba praised China’s support for Nepal’s development and reaffirmed Nepal’s commitment to the One-China policy, stating that no anti-China activities would be permitted on Nepali soil.
Ambassador Chen Song noted the deepening cooperation between the two countries in areas such as trade, infrastructure, and cultural exchange, emphasizing that the relationship continues to grow through mutual respect and high-level visits.
