Bandipur, a popular tourist destination in Tanahun district, is witnessing a surge in visitors. The number of domestic tourists has also increased due to the Dashain holidays.
Kisan Pradhan, chairman of the Bandipur Tourism Development Committee, shared that they have prepared a list of 17 attractions, including Thanimai Temple, the Mani Mukundeshwari Wall (Mini Great Wall), Bindhyavasini Temple, Patledwar Cave, and Shahid Smarak Udyan, in seven languages—English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, and others.
Tourism entrepreneurs attribute the rise in domestic tourists to the festive holidays, reflecting a growing trend in Nepal. This period has become a prime opportunity for locals to explore popular destinations like Bandipur.
Additionally, foreign tourist arrivals have also surged, as the current season falls within Nepal's peak tourist season, which spans from September to November . During these months, the clear skies and pleasant weather make it ideal for trekking and sightseeing, attracting travelers from around the world.
Chinese tourists currently make up the majority of international visitors to Bandipur. Pradhan added that Bandipur has become a preferred destination for tourists from countries like Japan, China, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, France, the USA, Germany, Denmark, Pakistan, Australia, the UK, Ireland, South Korea, Belgium, Thailand, Switzerland, Malaysia, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Iran, India, Greece, and Argentina. -- (With inputs from RSS)
