A total of 105,698 foreign tourists visited Mustang in the past nine months, according to the Area Conservation Office under the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP).
Among them, 90,081 were from SAARC countries, while 15,617 arrived from non-SAARC nations as of October 6. Additionally, 8,397 tourists entered Mustang via the Thorang-La Pass, situated at an altitude of 5,400 meters.
In the month leading up to October 2, altogether 2,896 tourists were recorded entering the district.
Tourist numbers have surged at popular destinations like the Muktinath temple, Kagbeni, the Korala border transit, Lo Manthang, Sinja Jong Cave, Jomsom, Dhumba Lake, Thini, Marpha, and Lete.
In 2023, Mustang saw arrival of 121,352 foreign tourists. -- RSS
