E conomic and Labour Relation Committee (ELRC) under the Legislature Parliament has directed the formation of a high level body to rehabilitate the sick industrial units.

The proposed body would identify, declare and rehabilitate the sick units and prepare long term policies for addressing industrial sickness. Dr Tilak Rawal, a Member of the ELRC said that the proposed body would help settle the problem of industrial sickness in a speedy manner and prepare laws to address such problem in the long term.

The proposed body, will have representatives from the Ministries of Industry, Finance, Land Reforms and Management and Labour and Transportation Management as well as the National Planning Commission, Nepal Rastra Bank, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries and Nepal Bankers Association.
