November 13: India-Nepal Folk Craft Festival was held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu from November 7-11 with the support of the Indian Embassy.
Organiser of the event, South Asia Foundation, informed that 50 artisans and craft persons from India as well as 30 artisans from Nepal showcased their products over five days. According to the organiser, the exhibition provided a sound platform to the artisans to promote the local crafts from different parts of India and Nepal.
Khadi Nepal Fashion Event was also held on the embassy premises on November 10, reads a press statement issued by the embassy. The fashion event saw participation of leading Indian and Nepali fashion models as well as showcased khadi products from Indian and Nepali designers. The event also included a small exhibition of handicraft products on premises of the embassy.
The fashion event was attended by nearly 500 persons and played a crucial role in promoting the brand image of Khadi, reads the statement.
Both, India-Nepal Craft Festival and the Kathmandu Fashion Event were celebrated under the aegis of “70 years of India’s Independence” and were successful in reaching out to the Nepali public, Nepali dignitaries as well as the international community living in Nepal, the statement further said.
