The fourth season of the Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League began on Wednesday, June 4. The annual event is organized by Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank to commemorate its 31st anniversary and continues a tradition of celebrating the occasion through sports and team spirit.
At the official inauguration ceremony, the Chairman of Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank’s Board of Directors marked the beginning of the tournament by ceremonially handing over the bat and ball to the match officials.
The league has grown into a prominent sporting event in Nepal’s corporate sector. It brings together a wide range of institutions from across the financial landscape, including banks, insurance firms, and merchant banks.
This year’s tournament spans four days and features a total of 39 matches. It includes the participation of 240 players representing 9 commercial banks, 8 development banks, 1 finance company, 1 microfinance institution, 3 insurance companies, and 2 merchant banks.
Beyond competition, the league aims to strengthen relationships within the industry, promote employee well-being, and foster a sense of unity across corporate institutions.
