Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has been discharged from the Kirtipur-based Nepal Cleft and Burn Centre after receiving treatment for burn injuries.    

DPM Paudel and Pokhara Metropolitan City’s Mayor Dhanraj Acharya were injured while releasing balloons at the inauguration of a programme organized for the promotion of tourism in Pokhara on Saturday.

While Paudel received treatment in the intensive care unit at the centre for two days, Mayor Acharya will be kept at the hospital for a few more days even though his health condition is reported to be normal.

According to the hospital, "DPM Paudel’s burn injuries are healing and there does not appear to be any adverse effect on the lungs."    

Therefore, it has been decided to 'discharge' DPM Paudel from the hospital, "said a press release issued by the Kirtipur-based hospital. -- RSS
