The Nepali film project Ek Mutthi Badal: My Share of Sky has secured 60,000 euros in funding from the Netherlands-based Hubert Bals Fund. Producer Samipya Raj Timalsena confirmed that the film was selected for a post-production grant, which will greatly enhance its technical quality. He expressed hope that this support would bolster the film's presence on international platforms, calling it "recognition of the team's hard work."
This achievement marks Sahara Sharma as the first Nepali female filmmaker to win the Hubert Bals Fund’s post-production grant, according to Timalsena.
The film delves into themes of marriage and women's pursuit of freedom within the confines of domestic life. It examines the tension between societal expectations and women’s aspirations for independence, shedding light on family dynamics and the unseen sacrifices, struggles, and contributions of women in Nepali society.
