August 7: Etihad Airways has given a warm send off to the officials and members of team Nepal’s Rio Olympics 2016 squad which is being held at Brazil.
“Team Nepal’s Olympic squad flew with the award-winning airline from Kathmandu to South America for the two-week sporting,” reads the statement forwarded by the company. Travelers at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) got an opportunity to mingle with the sportsmen and women and signed a large best wishes card before departing.
“We are extremely proud to have teamed up with the Nepal Olympic Committee to fly officials and competing athletes to the Rio Olympics for what promises to be a great sporting event,” said Pawana Shrestha, General Manager of Etihad Airways Nepal. “Etihad Airways wishes Team Nepal the best of luck and looks forward to flying back our sporting heroes with winning medals and give Nepal a great lift,” he added.
