December 20: NIC ASIA Bank formally opened a new branch in Martadi, Bajura, in partnership with UK Aid’s Sakchyam Access to Finance Programme (Sakchyam) on December 19. Padam Baduwal, mayor of Badimalika Municipality inaugurated the branch in the presence of Narayan Prasad Poudel, executive director (Financial Institution Regulation Department) of Nepal Rastra Bank, reads a press statement issued by the bank. The branch situated at Badimalika Municipality Ward-8 of Martadi, Bajura was initially opened on July 6.
Sakchyam is a UK Aid funded programme implemented for DFID Nepal by Louis Berger. It is being implemented in Nepal in partnership with local and international institutions.
NIC ASIA Bank believes that its partnership with Sakchyam will play a very crucial role in gradually enriching the banking activities in unbanked/underserved areas of the country. The bank said that it will support in implementing Nepal government’s program to increase access to banking service in all areas of the country.
The bank said it has adopted a strategy to reach every possible market for better service for its customers. The statement further said that there are more branches coming in operation soon.
