Members of the National Forum of Photojournalists (NFPJ) will now be able to obtain collateral- and interest-free loans for purchasing cameras with the support of Global IME Bank, following an agreement signed on Thursday, February 6.
The agreement was signed by Prakash Paudel, Head of Transaction Banking Sales and Business at Global IME Bank, and Pradeep Raj Onta, President of NFPJ. Under the arrangement, photojournalists can access loans ranging from Rs 200,000 to Rs 500,000 for camera purchases.
The bank aims to support photojournalists through flexible installment plans. NFPJ will coordinate and facilitate the submission of required documents, including citizenship certificates and salary statements among others.
Cameras can be purchased from G&D Suppliers at New Road, Kathmandu under installment plans ranging from 6 to 18 months, accoridng to NFPJ.
To qualify for the loan, photojournalists must obtain an official recommendation from NFPJ’s central office along with institutional endorsements from their respective organizations.
