KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 2.98 billion for the Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project.
Finance Minister Barshman Pun said this while announcing the budget for the next fiscal year 081-82 on Tuesday.
The budget statement mentions that the government plans to expand fruit cultivation on 2 , 000 hectares of land in the highlands. Finance Minister Pun added that the government also plans to expand 14 government farms to produce at least 700 , 000 quality fruit saplings.
