April 27: Himalaya Airlines has announced its second direct commercial flight to Colombo, Sri Lanka by its new Airbus 320-214. The Airlines had earlier offered the package to Colombo, Sri Lanka, from 12 th April 2016 to 16 th April 2016, on occasion of the New Year 2073.
“The flight will allow a 4-night/5-day stay in Sri Lanka with departure on the 3 rd May 2016 from the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu at 08.30 hours (local time). The return departure from Colombo is scheduled on 07 May 2016 at 16.00 hours (local time),” informs the company in a press statement.
“With a sole purpose of promoting tourism between Nepal and Sri Lanka, the airline is offering the alluring round trip fare of NPR 55,000 for business class and NPR 35,000 for economy class and has also tied up with leading outbound tour operators of Nepal to promote this package,’ reads the statement.
Speaking on the occasion Vijay Shrestha, Vice President of administration, says “We received an overwhelming response from our customers upon our first Colombo Flight. Considering the request of our esteemed customers and travel trade, we feel honored to organize another trip to the same destination to serve Nepali and Sri Lankan Market with appealing prices and delightful services. ”
The Airline has also scheduled its destinations to Doha, Qatar and Delhi, India followed by Lhasa, Chengdu and Beijing in China a few months later. The Himalayan airline has 48.99% of equity capital of Tibet Airlines Company whereas the Nepalese side holds 51.01%.
