Hyundai is set to launch its highly anticipated Creta Electric in Nepal on March 24, following its official debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year in January.
Dipak Thapaliya, General Manager of Laxmi Intercontinental, Hyundai’s official distributor in Nepal, confirmed the launch date to New Business Age. “We are excited and optimistic about the vehicle’s performance in the Nepali market,” he said. “Preparations are in full swing for the launch.”
The Creta Electric is expected to be priced between Rs 5.5 million and Rs 6.5 million, though Hyundai has yet to disclose the official price. The EV will come with two battery options: a 51.4 kWh pack producing 168 bhp with a range of 473 km, and a 42 kWh pack generating 132 bhp with a range of 390 km. It promises swift acceleration, reaching 0-100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds, and is equipped with a battery heater to enhance performance in different climates.
Charging the Creta Electric will be fast and convenient. The 11 kW smart wall box charger enables a full charge in just four hours, while DC fast charging can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes, according to the distributor. Additionally, Active Air Flaps (AAF) have been incorporated to improve aerodynamics and energy efficiency.
Safety is a key focus in the Creta Electric, which boasts over 72 safety features, including six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, and an electronic parking brake. The vehicle also features Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Level 2, offering Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control. Further enhancing safety, regenerative braking with i-Pedal technology ensures smooth deceleration, while the vehicle’s structure is reinforced with 75% Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and High Strength Steel (HSS) for added durability.
Inside, the Creta Electric delivers a premium driving experience with dual 10.25-inch curved displays for infotainment and digital instrumentation, along with a Bose 8-speaker sound system. Hyundai’s Bluelink connectivity suite provides over 70 smart features, including remote vehicle monitoring and enhanced security. Additional comfort features include ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof with voice command functionality.
Adding to its practicality, the Creta Electric offers Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing users to power external appliances. It also comes with a digital key, accessible via smartphones and smartwatches, ensuring seamless access and convenience.
