At the convocation ceremony held on Tuesday, 319 students received convocation which had been organised for the first time in twenty years of its establishment.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari, chief guest of the programme gave away the convocation certificates to the CA graduates.
"The role of CA is very crucial for the building a well-managed financial system of the country as they are the ones who are responsible for preparing and certifying the financial reports of the government and non- governmental sectors," said the President.
ICAN was established after the introduction of Nepal Chartered Accountant Institutions Act- 1997. The organization which is responsible for admission, syllabus and examination of the CA course in Nepal does not take classes itself. The students get admitted to institutions or prepare themselves in accordance with international standards for CA.
In addition to that, the students who have studied CA from India can also join it and take a separate examination of law and taxation system, after which they can be qualified for working as a CA in Nepal.
