India’s leading traditional snack brand, Bikaji Foods International Ltd. (Bikaji), is set to establish a production facility in Nepal through a partnership with the country’s prominent business conglomerate, Chaudhary Group (CG).
Bikaji and CG have signed a joint venture and shareholder agreement to produce and market Bikaji products in Nepal. According to CG, the partnership marks a significant step in Bikaji’s commitment to strengthening its brand presence in Nepal and expanding its international footprint.
Under the collaboration, popular Bikaji products such as bhujia, namkeen, papad, packaged sweets, and other snacks will be manufactured, marketed, and promoted within Nepal. Leveraging the extensive experience of both companies in food processing and manufacturing, the partnership aims to promote brand growth and market expansion in Nepal.
As per the agreement, the joint venture will have equal ownership—50 percent each by Bikaji and CG Foods. Bikaji aims to produce pure, authentic, and healthy products tailored to the Nepali palate, with a long-term goal of expanding its international presence through sustainable partnerships and local empowerment.
"This joint venture is a key milestone in Bikaji’s global journey and reflects our confidence in Nepal as a strong market," said Deepak Agarwal, Managing Director of Bikaji Foods International. "With CG Group’s strong leadership and deep local understanding, we are confident in our ability to provide high-quality and affordable products to Nepali consumers."
Varun Chaudhary, Director of CG Foods Nepal Ltd., said the collaboration with a renowned Indian food company will bring high-quality food innovation to Nepal. He emphasized that the partnership will introduce products that blend India’s diverse and rich flavors seamlessly into the daily lives of Nepali consumers.
Bikaji has been aggressively forming partnerships with other food companies in India as well. Last year, it acquired a majority stake in Hazelnut Factory Food Products, a café chain and specialty sweets producer. It also purchased a 55 percent stake in Ariba Foods, which manufactures vegetarian and non-vegetarian burgers, parathas, and breads. In 2023, Bikaji further expanded its reach by acquiring a 49 percent stake in Bhujialalji, another Indian snack manufacturer and startup.
