April 5: Jet Airways, one of the reputed private airline companies of India, has signed an agreement with Boeing for the purchase of 75 additional aircrafts.
The Indian airline company had signed the agreement with the American aircraft manufacturer on Tuesday, April 3, for Boeing 737 MAX series aircraft.
Jet Airways said it decided to purchase the addition fleet after analyzing the continuous increase in the number of passengers in the Indian aviation industry.
Boeing 737 MAX is priced at USD 8.9 billion but the aircraft manufacturer is expected to provide discount to the Indian company.
Airline industry in India has been growing tremendously with the flow of local and foreign passengers. This growth has motivated the airlines in India to introduce additional fleet to meet the demand.
Jet Airways last year had signed a separate agreement with Boeing for the purchase of seventy-five 737 MAX aircrafts.
