November 15: MAW Earthmovers, the authorised distributor of JCB heavy machines for Nepal, has introduced ‘telematic system’ JCB Livelink in the Nepali market on November 14. Using the newly introduced system, users can remotely monitor and supervise their machines from distance. “JCB Livelink is an advanced telematics technology which has been designed to monitor machines and help JCB customers get the best possible value and performance out of their equipment,” says the MAW Earthmovers in a press statement. “JCB Livelink is the first telematics system launched in Nepal so far,” informed the company’s Chairman Vishnu Kumar Agarwal. “The system provides information on service, operation and security (SOS) of JCB machines.”
According to the company, JCB Livelink can be retrofitted in already operational JCB Backhoe Loaders as well. “One of the key benefits is the protection from theft as JCB Livelink allows machines to be tracked and located through its network if stolen,” reads the statement. “Livelink pinpoints a machine’s exact location and sends the information back to JCB’s secure data centre. It also allows customers and dealers to monitor machine hours, fuel economy, and usage data as well as receive health alerts.” As per the company, all of these features can be accessed through a simple web site or via a mobile phone through SMS alerts.
Speaking in a program, Agarwal said that the system will ease users to use their machines safely and effectively. MAW Earthmovers has been the authorised distributor of JCB in Nepal since 2003. The company has been selling various JCB products such as backhoe loaders, wheeled loading shovel, tracked excavator, vibratory compactor, skid steer loader and diesel gensets in Nepal.
