The National Horticulture Expo 2081 began Thursday, April 10, at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, bringing together stakeholders from across Nepal’s growing nursery industry.
Organized by the Nursery Association Nepal (NAN), the four-day event is envisioned as a major platform for showcasing the diversity and potential of the horticulture sector.
This year’s edition features a wide-ranging exhibition of over 700 plant species from nurseries nationwide, spanning flowers, fruits, agriculture, forestry, and medicinal plants. In addition to the live plant displays, the expo includes stalls offering fertilizers, pesticides (both organic and chemical), seeds, pots, gardening tools, and horticultural technologies.
The event aims to draw at least 51,000 visitors and generate business transactions worth over Rs 12.5 million, according to organizers. A total of 74 commercial stalls, three food stalls, and five competition-based stalls have been set up to engage and inform attendees.
Entry fees are priced at Rs 100 per person, with a 50% discount available for students and senior citizens. The expo runs through Sunday, April 13.
