Ncell has become the main sponsor of Lumbini Lions for Nepal Premier League (NPL) which began on Saturday, November 30.
The announcement was made at an event held at Hilton Kathmandu on Sunday, December 1. It was attended by Lumbini Lions’ brand ambassador and legendary actor Rajesh Hamal, team captain Rohit Paudel, British cricketer Tom Moores, and other players.
Ishwar GC, President of Lumbini Lions, and Jabbor Kayumov, CEO and Managing Director of Ncell, signed the sponsorship agreement. The event also featured the unveiling of the team’s jersey.
Speaking about the partnership, GC said, "We are extremely grateful to partner with Ncell, a world-class telecom service provider and Nepal’s leading private telecom operator, as our main sponsor. We are confident this collaboration will significantly contribute to the development of Nepali cricket. Similarly Kayumov also expressed his excitement about the partnership, highlighting Ncell’s ongoing commitment to the development of Nepali cricket and youth talent. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Lumbini Lions with the goal of taking Nepali cricket to greater heights, guided by our theme of ‘We are for you’,” he said. “We aim to contribute to the development of sports, youth empowerment, and social unity, and to reach new milestones.”
Lumbini Lions will play their first match of the tournament against Biratnagar Kings on Wednesday, December 4.
