Ncell has partnered with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) for the Women's T20I Triangular Series, aiming to energize Nepali cricket fans and support the development of women's cricket in Nepal.
The collaboration aligns with Ncell’s "We Are for You" initiative, reinforcing its commitment to promoting sports and cricket in Nepal. The series began on Thursday at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, with CAN offering free entry to all matches to encourage support for the Nepali women's team.
The tournament features Nepal, the Netherlands, and Thailand, with each team competing against the others three times. In the opening match on Thursday, Nepal faced the Netherlands but suffered a defeat. Nepal’s remaining fixtures are against Thailand on February 2, against the Netherlands on February 3, against Thailand on February 5, against the Netherlands on February 6 and against Thailand on February 8.
Nepal is competing under the captaincy of Indu Barma, with a squad that includes former captain Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar, Pooja Mahato, Alisha Kumari Yadav, Bindu Rawal, Samjhana Khadka, Kavita Kunwar, Mamta Chaudhary, Kavita Joshi, Revati Dhami, Roma Thapa, Rajmati Airi, Manisha Upadhyay, and Ishwari Bista.
Ncell described the partnership as a testament to its commitment to growth, innovation, and excellence in sports development. A statement from the company highlighted its continued contributions to Nepali sports, including its role as a "Powered By" partner for the Nepal Premier League. Additionally, Ncell has supported Nepali para-athletes in cricket, football, volleyball, golf, and other national and international competitions.
The company has previously backed major tournaments such as the 5th Tiger Cup, Tri-Twenty-One Tri-Series 2024, ICC League 2, and the Nepal-Canada One-Day Series. As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), Ncell continues to support national para-athletes in partnership with the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Nepal.
