July 23: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Board of Directors has decided to resume electricity supply to six industries. This decision was made during a meeting presided over by the Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, who also chairs the NEA Board.
The decision mandates that the industries must clear their dues within three months to ensure the continuation of power supply. This directive comes following the guidelines from the Electricity Regulation Commission.
The industries affected by the power cut since July 9 due to unpaid tariffs are Reliance Spinning Mills, Ghorahi Cement, Arghakhanchi Cement, Jagdamba Steel, Jagdamba Synthetics, and Hulas Steel.
The NEA's latest decision aims to restore power to these industries under the condition of timely payment of the dues.
