The Nepal Flour Mills Association has signed an agreement with India’s Agriwatch to introduce satellite technology for the identification, analysis, and consultation of Nepal’s agricultural sector.
The agreement was signed on Friday during the association’s 24th annual general meeting chaired by Association President Kumud Dugad. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari attended the AGM as the chief guest.
Under the collaboration, Nepal will receive services such as agricultural market price information and daily, weekly, and monthly market analysis. It is expected that these services will support farmers and traders in making better-informed decisions.
Additionally, the partnership will provide studies and advice on agricultural production, consumption patterns, import-export analysis, market trend assessments, and investments in seeds, fertilizers, and other agricultural inputs.
The initiative will also offer AI-based crop analysis, personalized agricultural consultation, and market connectivity services as part of a digital agriculture solution. Officials believe this will help farmers adopt modern technologies and assist the government in developing future agricultural strategies.
