According to data on Nepal's import/export activities for the past month, released by the Department of Customs on Friday, Nepal imports goods and services from 103 countries. However, there are 26 countries from where Nepal only imports goods, with no exports recorded.
In addition, trade with some of these countries remains entirely one-sided. Nepal imported goods worth Rs 1.96 billion from these countries over the past month, resulting in a monthly trade deficit of approximately Rs 2 billion.
Among these countries, Argentina is the largest source of imports. In just one month, Nepal imported goods and services worth Rs 939.7 million from Argentina alone. Other countries with zero exports from Nepal include Paraguay, Togo, Tanzania, and Egypt.
