The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped 0.42 percent (11.49 points) on Sunday, February 9, closing at 2,688.31, marking four consecutive days of losses.
The index had surged 1.58% (42.04 points) last week.
The market saw a decline in daily turnover, too. It surpassed Rs 8.39 billion, compared to Rs 9.24 billion the previous trading day.
Over 15.8 million shares were traded through 84,280 transactions on Sunday.
All major indices ended the day in the red. The Sensitive Index declined 0.49 percent, while the Float Index and the Sensitive Float Index slipped by 0.45 percent and 0.46 percent, respectively.
Central Finance Co. Ltd. (CFCL) and Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited (GMLI) became the top gainers of the day, hitting the upper circuit limit.
On the contrary, Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd. (SAPDBL) became the biggest loser of the day, with its share price dropping by 6.52 percent.
In terms of turnover, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited (NRN), followed by CEDB Holdings Limited (CHDC) and Central Finance Co. Ltd. (CFCL).
Of the 13 NEPSE sub-indices, only four ended in the green. The Finance Index saw the highest gain, rising by 0.80 percent, while the Development Bank Index recorded the largest decline, Ffalling by 1.35 percent.
