The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) market rose for a third consecutive day on Tuesday, July 1, by 1.09%, or 28.91 points, to close at 2,660.39.
It had gained 0.35% Monday and 1.02% Sunday after three consecutive days of losses.
Among major sub-indices, the Sensitive Index advanced 1.37%, the Float Index increased 1.31%, while the Sensitive Float Index gained 1.48%.
Trading activity, too, picked up, with daily turnover exceeding Rs 7.03 billion, compared to over Rs 6.38 billion the previous day. Over 15.75 million shares changed hands across 70,214 transactions, up from 14.17 million shares traded in 63,371 transactions on Monday.
Of the 248 listed companies traded on Tuesday, 217 gained while 31 declined.
Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBSL) and Nyadi Hydropower Limited (NYADI) were the top performers, each climbing 9.87%. SLBSL closed at Rs 1,521.82 per share, while NYADI ended at Rs 470.36.
Unilever Nepal Ltd (UNL) was the biggest loser, dropping 2.13%. Its last traded price was Rs 46,000 per share.
Among 13 sectoral indices, only the Manufacturing and Processing Index and Trading Index closed lower, dropping 0.07% and 0.61%, respectively. The Investment Index surged 2.38%, followed by the Microfinance Index 2.22%, Hydropower Index 1.38%, Development Bank Index 1.21%, Life Insurance 1.12%, Banking Sub-Index 1.09%, and Non-Life Insurance 1.05%.
NEPSE’s total market capitalization rose to Rs 4,432.6 billion, up from Rs 4,384.42 billion on Monday.
