The NEPSE index increased Tuesday, October 22, gaining 25.88 points to close at 2,665.81 points, after closing in red for the two successive days.
However, the daily turnover dropped for the second consecutive day. It totalled around Rs 4.17 billion for the day.
Last week, the index rose by 77.17 points over the three consecutive trading days following the Dashain holidays.
The daily turnover, too, had risen to Rs 8.18 billion on Sunday.
More than 10 million shares were traded on the day through 53,678 transactions.
The Sensitive, Float, and Sensitive Float indices closed in green on the third trading day of the week, increasing by 0.93 percent, 0.90 percent, and 0.87 percent, respectively.
Rawa Energy Development Limited (RAWA) was the day's top performer, with its share price climbing by 8.86 percent, closely followed by Manakamana Engineering Hydropower Limited (MEHL), which saw a 7.82 percent gain.
In contrast, Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) was the biggest loser of the day, with its share price dropping by 4.75 percent.
Similarly, Goodwill Finance Limited (GFCL) led in turnover, followed by Kumari Bank Limited (KBL).
Of the 13 sub-indices, all closed in the green, with the Finance Index rising the most by 3.03 percent.
