The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index climbed 7.13 points to close at 2,765.88 on Tuesday, February 25, marking its seventh consecutive day of gains. The 0.25% surge follows a 0.12% rise the previous day.
The daily turnover, however, dropped. It exceeded Rs 9.90 billion, down from over Rs 11.08 billion in the previous session.
More than 17.5 million shares were traded across 97,562 transactions on the week's third trading day.
All three major indices closed in the green: the Sensitive Index rose 0.17%, the Float Index gained 0.24%, and the Sensitive Float Index increased by 0.11%.
Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited (GMLI) led the day’s gains, hitting the upper circuit limit. Its stock price rose to Rs 944 per unit. Nepal Lube Oil Limited (NLO) followed, with its share price increasing by 9.97% to Rs 276.90 per unit.
On the other end, Wean Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (WNLB) recorded the largest loss, with its share price falling by 8.97% to Rs 3,440 per unit.
Himalayan Reinsurance (HRL) was the market leader in turnover, with Rs 1.026 billion in transactions. It was followed by Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited (NRIC), with Rs 830.37 million, and Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Ltd (HIDCL) at Rs 297.58 million.
Of the 13 sub-indices, six ended the day in the red. The Others Index posted the largest gain, rising 2.90% to close at 2,450.05, while the Trading Index saw the steepest decline, falling 2.51% to end at 4,242.40.
