The Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting investment in Nepal, expanding the tourism sector, and strengthening trade relations between Nepal and Italy. NICCI made this commitment during its 11th Annual General Meeting in Kathmandu on Monday.
NICCI President Sanjay Agarwal underscored the historical and economic ties between the two nations, emphasizing the need for further strengthening trade relations. He noted Italy’s significant role in Nepal's economic development, particularly in the post-1990 democratic era and following the 2015 earthquake.
General Secretary Manoj Shrestha Bhadel acknowledged Italy’s long-standing support in rebuilding Nepal’s cultural, historical, and physical heritage. He expressed confidence that this cooperation would remain a lasting symbol of friendship.
During the AGM, individuals and institutions contributing to Nepal-Italy economic relations were honored. Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, a patron of NICCI, and Honorary Consul Pratibha Pandey received distinguished recognition, while Ashanka Shumsher JBR was named the 'Outstanding Member of the Year' for 2024. -- RSS
